Our Assistant Pastor
Reverend (Rev.) Janice Davis is a native of Enterprise, Alabama. She was brought up in the African Methodist Episcopal Church where she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Rev. Davis received her elementary education in Alabama, and secondary education in public schools in Ontario and Riverside, California. Rev. Davis holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Riverside City College. In 1997, Rev. Davis was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Divinity from the West Coast Pentecostal Bible College of Tuskegee, Alabama. Reverend Davis has furthered her education in Biblical Studies at King’s College and Seminary (Van Nuys, California). Rev. Davis is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. She worked for 23 years for the Federal government and retired in 2007 as a
Real Estate Specialist with the Department of Interior-Bureau of Land Management in Barstow, California.
Rev. Davis has been active in ministry over 30 years, and is an ordained Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (CME), and currently serves as Assistant Pastor at Emmanuel Temple (ET) CME Church. Assistant Pastor Davis’s years of leadership and ministry experiences affords her the opportunity to serve here at ET in a variety of capacities.
Specifically, here at ET you will find Assistant Pastor Davis involved in the following roles:
- Assisting Rev. Markham in facilitating the business and the spiritual affairs.
- Preaching.
- Training of the Ministerial Staff.
- Teaching the New Members Orientation Classes.
- Serving as a liaison for all ministry leaders.
- Counseling.
- Working closely with the Women’s Missionary Society.
Assistant Pastor Davis’s desires are to teach the word of God, be persistent in prayer, and faithfully serve God and His people. Dr. Davis is married and she and her husband, Charles, have two adult children and are proud grandparents.
